About the game
New Worlds is a space-faring universe simulation game where you navigate gravity to explore, complete missions, trade, upgrade and improve your ship fleet. Adventure to uncharted planets, to settle and develop the “New Worlds” of the last great frontier! Features a 2D space simulation built on multi-body Newtonian gravity. The player starts with a single ship in the Solus system and flies by planning burns and adjusting their trajectory: moons can capture a ship, gas giants can slingshot one, and an efficient orbit can reach a target with a fraction of the fuel a direct burn needs. Stations and worlds are markets in a simulated economy, where rival powers expand whether or not the player takes part. The player hauls cargo and passengers, trades between markets, takes on missions and builds a fleet of scouts, freighters, starliners, carriers, colony ships and drones. Earnings pay for ship upgrades, stations, settlements and infrastructure. The player can join a faction or found their own and compete for territory through politics and diplomacy. Settlements grow from outposts into cities, and hostile worlds can be terraformed until they are habitable. The game spans three star systems with 38 worlds. It supports co-op multiplayer for up to four players, has an original 19-track soundtrack and plays in the browser as well as on Windows, Linux and Android.
